Several car manufacturers have been battling for a while to get the title 'fastest production car'. Especially Nissan and General Motors take this very seriously. Friday 27th june 2008 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany General Motors took the Corvette ZR1 for a test drive. Driven by engineer Jim Mero the ZR1 completed the 23 kilometer distance in 7 minutes en 26.4 seconds. That is faster than the Nissan GT-R (7:29) and any Porsche. It is 16.5 seconds faster than the Corvette Z06. Later that year the ZR1 was 4 seconds faster and drove in 7 minutes and 22.4 seconds the same distance.

General Motors, the manufacturer of Chevrolet, released the corvette ZR1 as their model for 2009. Reviews state that the 2009 model is now the most expensive and powerful corvette among all corvettes released in the market.

The corvette ZR1, proving its ability and its recognition as the most powerful corvette even beats the speed of the Z06 model due to its 115 horsepower with gives it the advantage of faster speed. In fact, it is expected for this model to reach the speed of 200 mph.

It is even better compared to the Porsche 911, Lamborghini LP640 and the Ferrari 599. We all know Ferrari has a high standing in racing cars, but this new corvette might just take it off the road and be the winning car on the race.

In terms of its parts, carbon fiber has been the popular exterior choice for the ZR1. The front fascia and the roof of this model have a carbon fiber look with a clear coating for better protection. The window is made from clear polycarbonate that has ‘LS9 Supercharged’ inscription embossed on it.

Late night TV Star and a fast car fanatic bought his latest new baby the all power full 2009 Corvette ZR1. He did some test drives in and around LA and he was pleased with the performance.

Jay posted a video where made a quick walk around of the the car and he also pointed some unique features of the most powerful Corvette ever made.

Technical details : 6.2 litre engine 638 bhp, 604 ft/lb of torque. Proper manual transmission and of course a nice sound of the engine.

Performance-wise, the ZR1 sprints to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.
